Frequently Asked Questions
For your convenience, we have attempted to answer some of our most common inquiries below.
How much does it cost to cut down a tree?
Our most popular question! We wish we could give you a flat-rate number, but every tree and every situation is different. Costs depend on the height, width, and location of the tree. Most tree trimming services (including DFW Tree Trimming Service) cut the tree at the base and leave the stump. Stump removal or stump grinding is a separate fee. Of course, all of this will be completely explained to you in our free line-item estimate.
How long does it take to get an estimate?
Speaking of estimates, they are usually scheduled within 1-2 business days of your first call. We will send our estimator out to your premises to take notes and photographs if necessary. You will receive your estimate that same day via fax or email.
How soon can my tree work be completed?
We accept all major credit cards, including Discover. Because we are a modern company, we also accept PayPal! We will even take your check. Unless otherwise specified, no payment needs to be made until after the work is completed. Once the work is completed we will walk the property with you if you are available and payment can be made at that time.
Why do tree stumps need to be removed?
Several reasons. First, for aesthetic reasons you might not want a yard full of stumps; you may also want to re-landscape the area. If it’s a large stump or stumps they could be occupying valuable space where a play area or garden could grow. Smaller stumps can be dangerous, especially if hidden by bushes or tall grass, as you or your family could injure yourself walking or playing. It can also damage mowing equipment. Finally, stumps can attract insects like termites who love to feast on the rotting wood. Do any of these reasons apply to you?
Why is it important to prune trees?
Trees should be pruned for both aesthetic and health reasons. A properly pruned tree looks great and can increase property value. When you maintain trees regularly, this cuts back on fire hazard from dead wood and debris. A pruned fruit tree will bear more delicious fruits. Pruned trees prevent overgrowth and damage to structures. When you prune a tree you also prolong its life!
